Simply Amazing...

Last night's Oceanside vigil was beautiful and amazing. There were so many lovely people there to support the cause. I was especially struck by how people pitched in to help where needed, and by the families and members of the military who were willing to share their stories.

I am happy to say that our event, and other vigils around the country, received a lot of media coverage. Just watching the news this morning showed that the vigils did exactly what Cindy Sheehan hoped they would - they drew attention to the question of why we are in Iraq, and why young men and women have to die for a cause that was not justified.

I do hope that those of you who found your way to this blog will help us build this community. Here's what I need from you now:
  1. If you took pictures at the vigil, please contact me at and we will coordinate how you can send the pictures to be included in a slideshow.

  2. Please feel free to use the comments feature of this blog to communicate with me and each other. We want to know what YOU want to do to make a difference in the community. This will help us plan future events.

  3. If you would like to contribute to this blog as a co-editor on a regular basis, please contact me here or at the above email address. I would like to grow this blog into a source of local and national news and information for people in our group.
Thank you all for making last night's vigil so special. And a super-duper thank you goes out to Barbara Schulz who put her heart and soul into coordinating the event. I'm sure we all look forward to working with her on these causes in the future!
